REGISTER

Program Goals

The main goal of the ATC kids triathlon program is to provide a safe environment where kids can: (1) have fun, (2) be active and healthy, (3) develop basic physical and social skills, and (4) prepare (mentally and physically) to complete a kids triathlon.

Program Overview

The 2017 kids triathlon program will go from May 16 – September 24, 2017.  Monthly membership fees are available and you can join or drop out at any time during this period.  The target age for the program is 6 to 15 years old (exceptions may apply).

The minimum requirements are that each participant must be able to swim (any stroke) one lap in the pool unassisted.  Also, each participant must be able to ride a bike without training wheels.  The run sessions will work on speed, endurance, and ABCs (agility, balance, and coordination). Bike sessions will work on speed, endurance, and technique (braking, shifting, climbing hills). Also, transitions will be practiced at run and bike sessions. Swim sessions will work on speed, endurance, form (drills), and race specific skills (snake swimming and passing). Monthly performance benchmark testing will be performed to measure progress.
